"ADDICTION"
My journey to recovery, out lasts
my stumble into discovery, by the
grove of my teeth, I hang on to this
feat, in and of myself, I'm no longer
weak, on the grand scheme of my life
I now speak,
I finally bridged the gap, found closure
for my addiction, bringing understanding
to my time of affliction, helping me to
grasp that discovery was a fiction, a
time when life stood still for me, the
realities of my being, I refused to see,
Trying to live in my dreams, instead of
dreaming to be free, emancipation from
my shackles unheard of, but recovery awe,
now that's the ticket, began opening doors,
clearing the fog, guiding me through the
thicket.
Where God almighty painted a picture, a
mixture of blue skies and green pastures,
a place to gain strength, regroup in dark
rich soils, I reattached my roots, from
where I came, to where I'm going, building
faith in God who is all knowing,
But life is a journey, who never ends, we
learn of our own choices, choosing from
deep within, to move away from all darkness
into the light, of the good battle prepared
to fight, to soar like an eagle to horizons
unseen, to ride on serenity's flowing streams,
where I reflect on the waters, regain my might,
to continue moving forward, on this journey called
LIFE.
