It was one of those nights when I didn't feel like staying at home and I did not want to do anything, but relax. Movies! Nothing sounded better, so I called one of my friends and we decided to go see Mad Money.
I like Joey (Katie Holmes) in and out Dawson's Creek and I am ready to see her in any role. In the movie she plays Jackie Truman, very silly and crazy in her way, but still cute girl, who seems to have fun no matter what and is always with her i-pod dancing and listening to the music. Queen Latifah plays Nina Brewster in the movie and she looks really passionate with her job. Last but not least is Diane Keaton who is Bridget Cardigan, really fresh, enthusiastic and very amazing as always. The actresses are wonderful, funny and give another level of charm that needs to be seen.
The plot is simple. After Bridget is about to lose her beautiful house and her lifestyle she starts a job as a janitor at a Federal Bank. There she meets a single hard- working mom Nina and a free- spirit girl, Jackie who pushes the cart with the money. All of them have financial worries and this is something that helps them to connect. They have an immediate bond and a big plan. The three of them decide to steal some of the money that are going to be destroyed, and they are going to do it not just once. Their plan sounds to be perfect, but their greed is not. I am not going to tell you all the story, but there is definitely a little bit of action and adventure, a little bit of crime and thrilling moments, a little bit of friendship and love, a lot of laughs and piles and piles of money.
The movie shows once and again that people are ready to do anything, whatever it takes, no matter of the gender, and to push any limits for some extra cash. It is all designed to be funny and it has its girl's power. I was satisfied with the choice. The plot was intense, but not too much and definitely gave me something to talk about until the end of the week. Some people said that they expected a lot more and were disappointed with the intrigue and the actresses were worse than ever, but if you ask me if it's worth it I will tell you that you should see this movie with or without a reason.
