My Italian neighbour taught me this recipe...
I make my salad and then right in the bowl I do this:
Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, then sprinkle red wine vinegar. Follow with a very light sprinkling of sugar, and some freshly ground black pepper. Then I take about 1/2 teaspoon or so of oregano in my hands and crush it to release the flavor, and sprinkle that on. Sometimes I do the same with rosemary.
Then just toss the salad, and enjoy!
