Whether in America or abroad, there are exciting wine tour destinations available.
The wine tours include a tasting room where you can sample the wines. A sample consists of an ounce or two of wine.
The Napa Valley in California is America's wine-making capital. Although each season has it's attractions, Fall is the most exhilarating time to visit. The leaves are changing color; field hands are searching for ripe clusters; winery helpers are maintaining huge vats of fermenting juice; the aroma of grapes is in the air. Robert Mondavi, Charles Krug, Beringer and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars are produced in this region.
The best-known winery in the Napa Valley is the Robert Mondavi Winery. Robert Mondavi offers a good introduction to the wine-making operation. Mondavi's top wines are renowned.
The Beringer Vineyards is the oldest Napa Valley winery in continuous operation. It is located on spacious, lovely grounds with historic mansions.
Beau Wine Tours and Limousine Service goes to the premier Napa wineries. Included are a picnic lunch; four winery visits; a ride across the Golden Gate Bridge in a brand-new shuttle; and a Ferry/Bay Cruise back to San Francisco during sunset. You can choose a four, six or eight hour tour. The phone number is 415 513-5400.
In addition to the winery visits, Napa Valley offers spas, kayaking, hot-air baloons, hiking and art galleries.
Sonoma Valley in California has a quieter, slower pace of life than Napa Valley. A couple of wineries here are Ravenswood and the Glenn Ellen winery- Arrowood Vineyards and Winery.
