I had to raise my eyebrow at this one...really, is this a serious question? So many people truly believe that 'blonde's are dumb' when it simply cannot be true. I have met many intelligent blonds in my day, and many stupid brunettes. I have met many horrifyingly stupid blonds, and some just as horrifyingly stupid red-heads.
The question isn't even "Are blonds really stupider than most people?"...that is the question that most people are answering, but it isn't the one that is being asked.
Even if it was the question being asked, I would have to answer 'no' because blonds are not any stupider than anyone else nor do they have the capacity to be so. Being dumb, stupid, or poorly educated is entirely up to the individual involved.
The question that is being asked is 'are blonds less educated'. Even though the title was supposed to be or meant to say 'stupider' or 'dumber' instead of 'less educated' or it should have read 'Are blonds really as dumb as everyone says they are?'. That would be a better title because as it is, this one is worded wrong.
No, blonds are not less educated than most people. There are plenty of blonds at the college I go to, just like there were at my high school, and my junior high school...and my elementary school...come to think of it, a lot of them did better than me in school. I can only assume that meant that they were more educated than me, a brunette. Where did the idea that blond people have a lower level of brain activity come from? And how in the world did something that started out as a joke become a poorly worded Helium article title?
They are only less educated under circumstances in which they could not attend school and get an education like the rest of us, or if they did poorly in school while they were there. But all people of all hair colors have the capability to fail, drop out, or be stupid in school. Blonds are not the only ones that have the ability to fall short of societies education standards. I know a lot of people who are not blond that fall short every day, in fact, most of the people I know that fall short of being well educated are NOT blond. Some of the most intelligent and well educated people I know are blond. It is interesting how these ideas come about.
The stereotype that blonds are hot is also detrimental, you see, most of the time the hot bimbo blonds are the ones giving the other blonds (hot or not) a bad name. If you are a sexy blond, and you have a big beautiful brain good for you. If you are a sexy blond, but you're dumb as cardboard, stop causing people to think you somehow represent an entire group with the same hair color as you. Blonds are the only ones with that reputation. There are so many foolish brunettes in the world that we all meet or see on television or in movies on a daily basis. Yet, brunettes are only stupid or dumb on an individual basis. If we see a blond in the same situation, we then say 'blonds are dumb'. It sounds like brain washing to me.
Blonds are not any less educated than anyone else, just like they are not anymore attractive than anybody, or any less intelligent than anybody, or any more or less anything at all.
