INT: ITALIAN RESTAURANT - LATE AFTERNOON 1957 CEDAR LAKE, INDIANA
BIG BOY ROCOCO and CHUCKY BOY ROCOCO stand in an all but empty restaurant. BEBE ROCOCO (overweight) and JASMINE ROCOCO (slender), both dressed in waitress outfits, both with long black hair done up in a bun, stand in the BG with CANDY MACKS. Candy takes notes as she talks, but she keeps looking toward Big Boy and Chucky Boy.
BIG BOY
The Blue Moon is gobbling up our business.
CHUCKY BOY
They eat all that Sausage On a Stick - S.O.S. and other junk. They need a good home cooked Italian diner.
BIG BOY
Hop Sing ain't no Italian and he never ever cooked no home cooked nothing.
CHUCKY BOY
They don't come here cause nobody's here.
BIG BOY
What! You're like a idiot.
CHUCKY BOY
You ain't the only guy with brains in the Rococo family.
He turns and looks at the Rococo sisters. They nod.
BIG BOY
I could beat you up.
CHUCKY BOY
So?
BIG BOY
I'm just saying; I could beat you up.
CHUCKY BOY
I could like, stab you.
BIG BOY
You ain't never stabbed nobody in you're life.
CHUCKY BOY
You could be the first. Like a experiment.
BIG BOY
Experiment on this.
Bebe Rococo steps forward picking pasta from her teeth.
BEBE
Okay, ladies, we was discussing the restaurant problems.
In the BG, Jasmine Rococo, slips off her apron, pecks Candy on the cheek, and sneaks out the front door.
CHUCKY BOY
I was saying nobody wants to be here because nobody's here. The joint is empty. It's like intimidating.
BIG BOY
So nobody's here. So nobody comes in. So. We close down?
CHUCKY BOY
No. Bring people in even if we have to dig them up at the bone yard, then we gos and buries the Blue Moon.
BEBE
I do the Blue Moon for you guys.
CHUCKY BOY
