What to expect from American Idol in 2008

Finally, it's Thursday night, America finds out who will end their journey on American Idol, and life can go on for one more week! This is currently the biggest draw on Prime time TV; by next season it will most likely have earned a spot on the Nightly News. We will soon ask the parting contestants which candidate they would like to endorse before they leave. Do not get me wrong, I watch every single episode, and have since day one of season one. There really is no bigger reluctant fan than I. This said, I thought it only fitting that I comment on the weekly events and results. I will also give you my Top Ten Finalist (Ranked in order! That's right, I'll call it tonight! No bets though!)

I will get right to the point, the four finalist that left on Thursday night were:

Jason Yeager(28) - sang "Without Love (where would you be)" - Doobie Bros. He has a white shock of hair, for no apparent reason, right on the front of his head that is very distracting. It might work if he were fronting a punk band, in the eighties, but his voice would not have fit that genre. He could have a career in theater, and I don't mean that as a bad thing.

Alexandrea Lushington(17) -sang "Baby Please Don't Go" - Chicago She is a good singer and will mature knowing that she is good enough to make it this far. She needs a little work on stage presence.

Alaina Whitaker(16) - "Hopelessly Devoted To You" - Olivia Newton John Okay, this is how I would go out, sobbing! She really couldn't believe that she had to go home. Poor thing, they really shouldn't make you sing when you are crying that hard. She'll have to toughen up, a lot.

Robbie Carrico(Hot Blooded) - Foreigner Oh no, now who will Harvey Levin and the mole from TMZ have to report on? Hollywood Paparazzi group, TMZ (Thirty Mile Zone), has a mole inside American Idol feeding them behind the scenes gossip. For weeks now, TMZ has been reporting that this contestant is wearing a wig. Robbie used to be in a boy band and TMZ has a picture of him with very short spiky hair taken almost a year ago. Harvey Levin, the producer of TMZ, seems obsessed with Robbie's hairline. Could it be jealousy?

Sadly, all four of these contestants needed to go prior to the top ten anyway.

The Top 16 are:

Ramiele Mallubay (20)
Syesha Mercado (21)
Christy Lee Cook (24)
Asia'h Epperson (19)
Brooke White (24)
Carly Smithson (24)
Amanda Obvermyer (23)
Kady Malloy (18)
Chikezie (22)
Danny Noriega (18)
David Hernandez (24)
Jason Castro (20)
Luke Menard (29)
Michael Johns (29)
David Achulleta
