Is a woman sleeping with another woman considered cheating

Any intense relationship, whether emotional or physical, is a form of cheating. Whether it's with someone of the same sex, or the opposite sex, it is still a form of betrayal to your partner.

There are very rare instances where this may not be the case. If it is the sexual fantasy of your partner to watch two women together (and to which you agree), or if it is part of a mutual threesome, then it is technically not a form of cheating.

However, beware of acting on these types of fantasies. In reality, they are more likely to end in disaster than happiness. Feelings of betrayal and jealousy often come to the surface during these types of situations, and have be known to tear apart relationships that were stable and happy beforehand.

When you enter any exclusive relationship, then it is a given that your attention will be given completely to your partner. Sleeping with anyone, male or female, is a betrayal of this idea.

If you found out that your partner had slept with another man, would you feel hurt and betrayed? Why do you think that a male partner would feel any differently if he found out that his partner had slept with another woman? Feelings of hurt, betrayal and trust issues would be the likely result.

If you find yourself thinking of cheating, whether with a male or female, this indicates that there are problems in your current relationship that need to be addressed. Some people cheat because there is a lack of affection or attention in their current relationship. If this is the case, sleeping with someone else is not going to solve the underlying problem.

Not only is cheating an act of betrayal, but it also results in feelings of guilt for most people. This can compromise your current relationship, as you're likely to project your feelings of guilt onto them. Carrying around the burden of an illicit relationship can also lead to health problems.

Cheating is cheating, no matter who you do it with. Instead of directing your energy into something that is only going to cause heartbreak, take a look at your current situation, and work on making it better, or leaving if things are unable to be resolved.
