It's hard to say what the best X-Box 360 games are without bringing in personal preference. There are so many genres to choose from, however, you can visit websites that actively poll readers on just this type of information. The following is a current list of what players deem as "The Top 5 Best X-Box 360 Games".

1. Gears of War - This game is a first-person, duck and cover, shooter. That is, if you don't hide behind something, you aren't walking home. It has incredible online capabilities and is designed to be a cooperative challenge.

2. Oblivion - The fourth installment of the Elder Scrolls series. This single player RPG has an incredible story-line and several character creation options that allow for an entirely new experience every time you play. The background graphics and sound effects do a good job on making the game seem "real".

3. Halo 3 - Probably the main reason you bought your X-Box 360. Halo has become a first-person shooter cash cow, and with good reason. Halo 2 left players with a cliffhanger and the third installment delivers more than what most gamers expected. With 4-player online capability, gaming with your friends is brought to a whole new level.

4. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Forget about WWII, CoD 4 takes place in today's time with today's technology. This first-person shooter does have a rather short single player game, but it makes up for it with the multi-player capabilities.

5. Project Gotham Racing 3 - Somehow they just got it right with this first-person racing game. Although there are less cars to choose from, you don't start out with a clunker either. With more tracks than any other racing title and killer graphics to go with it, PGR 3 will more than deliver your virtual racing needs.

With HD graphics, tons of online options, and plenty of multi-player capabilities, any game played on the X-Box 360 can easily become your favorite to play.
