Freecell is a card game which comes with Microsoft's windows operating system. Freecell is a game known to be addictive to many users of Windows. This is because it is quick and easy to play. Many people play a game of Freecell before beginning their other work on their computers.
It is believed, but not proven, that every game can be won. The goal of Freecell is to move all the cards to the home cells, using the free cells as placeholders. That is why it is called "Free cell". To win you need to make four stacks of cards on the home cells, one for each suit, stacked in order of rank, from lowest (ace) to highest (king).
Here are some tips about Freecell:
* You can go to the menu to choose "quick play" so that double clicking on your mouse will move a card.
* You can go to the menu to choose "display an illegal move" so that a message comes up when you make an illegal move. This is a good way to learn how to play the game properly.
* You move the cards to columns by moving them in order from highest to lowest, alternating red and black. You can't move cards that are in different suits.
* You can move a card from the bottom of a column to a free cell or the bottom of another column or a home cell.
* You can move a card from a free cell to the bottom of a column, or to a home cell.
* You can reveal a partially hidden card by right clicking on it. Then it will show which suit it belongs to.
* The reason the title bar sometimes flashes is because you only have one move left to go.
* Sometimes the game will move cards for you. It will do this to transfer unneeded cards to home cells. A card is unneeded when no lower-rank cards of the opposite color remain in the playing area.
* You can move columns but only if there is enough space, or freecells to do so.
* Keeping cells empty means you have more flexibility in the game.
Freecell is a fun game to play even though sometimes it is too addictive. Why don't you try another game today and see if you can win? Maybe you can prove whether every game is winnable or not, or at least whether you can win them all or not.
