network of Army families that will be there to help your family adjust to Army life and make the most out of every opportunity. If you deploy, your family won't be left alone - there are so many others going through similar situations, and everyone is always willing to lend a helping hand in the Army.
A SENSE OF FULFILLMENT
When you realize that you're a part of the Army family, it's a wonderful feeling. You're contributing to the well-being of a 500,000 member team, and nothing on earth can compare to that. Your job is important, whether you're a cook, a Green Beret, or a Chemical Operations Specialist - and the Army couldn't do it without you.
In addition to the changes in yourself, you'll be extremely fulfilled by your work. There's always something to do, and if you take every opportunity you can to shine you'll be happy with your career choice. Many a man has shed a tear at his own promotion ceremony - and that's because he knows he's earned it and he's very proud to be a member of the team.
YOUR SURROUNDINGS
You'll be surrounded by some of the most highly skilled Warriors on the planet. These are people who have been through the same things you have, from Basic Training to Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. You'll have housing provided to you at no cost, whether you're married or single, have kids or are childless. The Army covers your rent (up to a certain amount, depending on where you're stationed) or gives you a room in the barracks, and your basic needs are automatically taken care of.
YOUR BENEFITS
The Army doesn't pay like a law firm, but your income will be steady - and if you ever run into an unexpected snag, the Army will help you take care of it. You'll be paid twice monthly (on the first and the fifteenth - and if pay day falls on a holiday, you'll get paid the Friday before), and each time you get promoted, you'll get a raise. On top of regular promotion raises, sometimes the government decides that we'll get a raise "just because."
You'll have full-coverage health insurance that will also be available to your dependents. You'll also be covered for any dental work you'll need - and you can get that for your family, too. If you decide to retire from the Army, you'll continue to get paid a substantial amount each month; you'll also be able to get another job and still collect, too.
If you think that the Army lifestyle may be for you, do yourself a favor - go chat with a recruiter today. The Army sure could use the help, and it may just be what you've been waiting for your whole life.
