The real truth about exotic dancing is that many claim they've utilized it as a stepping stone to get ahead monetarily; it's easy, the hours are great, and it helps them earn large sums of money for either financing college or helping to pay bills they've incurred. What many of these exotic dancers don't realize is that they've achieved a fast buck at the expense of their own reputation. When a job requires nothing more then your ability to sexually seduce someone, scantily clad, in an environment filled with questionable behaviors and individuals, one must question the real reasons behind putting yourself in a situation you really don't need to.
Sure, claiming you dance to pay for college is a good enough reason for someone who'd rather dance naked in front of complete strangers, instead of utilizing all the opportunities granted for college students such as student loans, grants and scholarships. Yet, it angers me to think that they really try to convince people that destroying their reputation when they could have avoided it was a better option then most other people use. Instead of borrowing from a bank or school fund, it makes much more sense to strip down and show your naked body to the world because you want to become a Nurse one day.
I have an adult son, and I would probably faint if he ever brought home an ex-stripper as a choice for a girlfriend. Have women become so shallow that they resort to being naked as a way to make money instead of having to work a little harder to gain it respectfully? Do these women really have self-esteem issues that are only satisfied by the amount of dollar bills they gain under their panties? Strip clubs are nothing more then live shows of pornography and there is no reason in the world, especially in our society, that a woman would have to resort to destroying her own character to make a living. If you're that desperate to earn quick money, why not purchase a 900 number and have phone sex with people? At least this way, no one can actually see you, and you can maintain some sort of dignity.
Furthermore, why is it referred to as exotic? It's not exotic, it's erotic. But calling it exotic makes it sound less degrading. What happens in these clubs involves partially or totally naked women, entertaining sexaholics, who pay large amounts of money on drinks and lap dances, seeing women as nothing more then sex objects. Knowing this, why would any woman want to be see in this light? Greed? It has to be, otherwise they might think twice before they engage in such behavior.
Woman who tell you they hate it, but need to do it for the money are lying. They don't hate it, people don't usually do things they hate; if something is that bad, one usually finds another way around it.
If a woman tells you she enjoys it, then you need to wonder why she only feels good about herself when she's parading around a bunch of perverts, instead of working in an environment where she's respected for her real, unique talents, instead of the ones any girl, but most don't, use at their disposal.
In the end, that high priced Law degree you've earned at the expense of your reputation and character probably won't be seen by most as a glorious achievement; unless the praise comes from the clients you once paraded in front of while you worked to get it.
