An introduction to permanent makeup

Permanent makeup is the choice of many women and men who want to look good at all times, but it's not mere vanity. Allergies to makeup, poor vision that prevent application, and loss of facial hair are contributing factors. Permanent makeup is an art form of tattooing performed by specially trained technicians for people who want to enhance or restore their appearance.

The first time I heard of this procedure was when I worked with a woman who had very fair blond eyebrows that were not visible without makeup. When she informed the office of what she planned to do, we encouraged her. We remembered the times she accidentally wiped off one eyebrow. She was a front desk receptionist in a high traffic doctor's office and losing an eyebrow did not portray the professional appearance she desired.

After the first appointment, she looked wonderful and she had to return only once after that for more work, but the results were more natural looking than when she applied her own makeup. Since eyebrows are a prominent facial feature, I thought she made an excellent choice, but there are many more options in choosing permanent makeup.

Another feature of permanent makeup is permanent eyeliner. Women and men have permanent eyeliner applied to enhance appearance. With aging and for other reasons some people lose the long and lush eyelashes of youth. As every woman knows, eyeliner can give your eyes a youthful and expressive appearance. You can also reshape the eyes. Some of us won't leave home without it.

Lips are also a wonderfully expressive part of the face. Thin lips give the appearance a pinched expression and sometimes lips are not very symmetrical in shape. We compensate by applying a lip liner to reshape and give our lips a fuller expression. We use topical lip plumpers for the same reason.

Lip liners reshape the lips giving a fuller luscious appearance. They can also correct uneven lip lines and add color to faded pigment lips. You can wear your own lipsticks over this pigment.

In addition to the above services, camouflage pigmentation is used to reduce the appearance of scars and other disfigurement of the face. Costs for services vary but you can expect to pay from $400.00 to $600.00 for individual procedures.

Extremely busy women find that permanent makeup gives them more time to take care of more pressing business like getting breakfast for the family, packing lunches and getting everyone off to school without being rushed for last minute makeup application. Arthritic
