everybody knows, I always oblige my muse. So, I scrapped my dark story and decided to writ something funny. This time, my protagonist was this joker who made everybody laugh. He'd play pranks and would bring a smile on everybody's face. "That's nice!" I thought to myself. "Maybe I could write about this guy and bring a smile on people face!" That was a very good thought indeed, except my story took a turn again and the joker had such a sad history that I wanted to cry. What? How could I make others laugh, when I myself wanted to cry? So what now my muse wanted something sad? Why couldn't my muse stick to one emotion? How can I write a story if my characters behaved in this erratic fashion? When I want them to appear dark, they look funny. When I want them to tickle other's funny bones, they make them cry! So, if I want them to make people sad, what will they do make them angry? How was I supposed to kick my writer's block if my characters stopped co-operating with me?
I had to do something! I had to go out, or shop or do anything other than sit in front of my computer, trying to come up with that mind-blowing story. Maybe, I should exercise on that tread mill that sits pathetically in our game room. Oh, better yet, maybe I should write a story about a treadmill that appears lost in a huge room, simply because its mistress refuses to play with it. Would that be funny? Naaahhhh going by my track record, a treadmill too would turn its back on me by refusing to run or something like that!
But, I couldn't just sit like this, moping and fretting, all the time. I had to do something! I had to vent! Aha . Bulls-eye! Of course, I could vent, couldn't I? I could write about how I had nothing to write about. So fine, I couldn't come up with an interesting story, but I still would be writing. And wouldn't it be a punch on the face of writer's block, if I kicked my writer's block by writing about writer's block? HEHEHE take that you little monster!
So, that is the story of how I kicked my writer's block! Granted, it is not an earth-shattering story! It is probably not even very imaginative. But, I take pride in the fact that I looked straight in to its eyes and kicked it hard in its youknow-where . so there!
