You won't find a friendlier, more helpful site for new, inexperienced, or published writers than Helium.
There is something for every writer at Helium - from the beginner (ages 13 and up) to the most experienced - where you "learn what you need, share what you know."
As a worldwide, instant-publication platform, Helium's membership over the past three years has grown exponentially into about one-half million members who have provided a solid database of one-million articles.
From a post-and-comment site to a valuable database for fact-based articles, Helium has raised its standards so check out the "new Helium" before you push that "Write Now" button.
Newcomers, beginners and experienced writers can quickly find a niche for themselves among Helium's 212 listed categories. Anyone can gain valuable "electronic credentials" with writing stars, professional badges, a personal bio page, and peer recognition.
From the Arts and Humanities channel, to Business and Education, to Health and Parenting, to Pets and Travel, there is a worldwide reading audience searching for information they need in their daily lives.
The old Q & A style didn't offer enough solid information. (Some "ancient," 200-words-and-shorter articles are being automatically removed from the site to conform with Helium's new standards.) Helium surveyed its readership and discovered that web readers want fact-based, "knowledge" articles in the 400- to 1500-word range.
How do you get started writing to Helium? Once you sign up, you can write to any topic that interests you and publish it instantly. But you will want to get acquainted with the site first.
Of the hundreds of writers that join daily, Helium recognizes its less-experienced writers could become its future 5-star writers, and it does everything it can to help writers perform their best.
No other site treats newcomers as well as Helium. Writers can get all the help they want in the general community forums, direct feedback and personal critiques in the writer's forums, or by asking a mentor to work one-on-one with them by e-mailing mentor@helium.com.
Members/writers can create their own biographies on their "About Me" pages. They can list links to their blogs and other websites and mention upcoming publications, etc. They can use real names or pseudonyms. (A real-sounding name is preferred if a writer wants to gain recognition from the roving publishers that check out Helium for stock content.)
