Tips for dealing with sick kids

it just provides some great entertainment and fun for the child. A favorite story can be very calming for an ill child.

Staying Calm Remedy #6: Do Some Yoga
Yoga is known to relax the mind. If you are stressed and need to get calm, try practicing some yoga. If your child is able (depending on the sickness at hand), allow the child to do this as well. There are even some forms of yoga that can help with certain symptoms. See if one applies to your child's symptoms and do it together.

Staying Calm Remedy #7: Just Breathe
Sometimes taking a moment to breathe can work wonders. It sounds clich, but it really does work. If your child needs treatment with steam from the shower, that's a perfect opportunity for you to close your eyes and breathe deeply. If your child is young and wants to sit on your lap, you can take your deep breath during this time. If not, sneak it in when you show your child to take deep breaths from the steam. Really feel that breath. In addition to calming you, it will make the steam-breathing look enjoyable to the child.

Staying Calm Remedy # 8: Get Some Fresh Air
If your child is well enough to get outside, fresh air can be very relaxing. Lie a blanket in the back yard and the two of you (or the whole family) can just sit or lie there and enjoy the fresh air and the sounds of nature. Nature and fresh air can be very soothing to the soul.
