i am writing this article out of respect for any child or parnet who has been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder.my daughter was said to have adhd.when she was 8 years old they told us she had adad.they put her on the medication for this and it made her even worse.one day she would love you and be a normal kid.the day she would hate you and wouldnt bat and eye.theres been times she stayed up for days upon days. about a year ago we finallt got the proper results my daughter was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder since they got her on the medication it has been a 360 degree turnaround we finally have our daughter back she is now a teenager and home schooled because the public school where i live wouldnt allow her to attended because they dont know how to handle a child with bi-polar disorder which makes it bad for her in away because shes not getting to have that social interaction time.but at the samt time it is benefitting her because she can work at her own pace and she doesnt have all the distractions that you have being in a classroom.she does very well being home schooled. so i dont think to many kids are being over diagnosed because for us when we finally figured out the right problem we were able to get our daughter the help to deserved and we got her back and thats all that matters to me.she will soon be going off to college and she will be a sucess in life because you can do anything no matter what anyone tells or no matter what your physical or mental problems are.now my daughter sleeps every night and she can focus.shes a typical teenage girl with boys and shopping on her mind and i dont know if that would have been the case a few years ago.childern with bi-polar need to a regular schedule in their life. they count on it and dependant on it for them to have a normal routine is very good for them.as long as a child as the love and support of their families anything is overcomable and possible.wish all the parents with childern with the same symptoms my best wishes. find someone to talk to. someone who will listen i know my daughter talked to her doctor and told him how she was feeling and what her symtoms were. allthough at times childern and adults with bi-polar can be diffcult but theres nothing that love cant get you through
