Okay Moms, Lets face it! Childcare is expensive. Many moms (and dads) are starting to realize just how expensive Childcare can be, and they are starting to look into working from home. With more and more at home opportunities out there, how do you know which one is for you?
First of all, do your research on anything that you find interesting. Talk to people in that field and don't be afraid to ask questions. Find out what kind of benefits, if any that they offer. There are some great ones out there that offer all kinds of good things, just like working in a JOB would, only you are at home. Find out what kind of support and/or training they offer. Most of all, whatever you choose, Make sure it is a good "fit" for you. You don't want to be doing something on a daily basis that does not make you happy, or that you truly do not believe in. If you truly believe in what you are doing, you will be more successful.
What do you do with the kids while working from home? This is truly the beauty of working at home! If your kids are cranky, you actually don't have to work at that time. Wait until they calm down, or take a nap, or are watching a movie. Many parents are doing it, and you can too!
You can take some calls while your children are eating breakfast, lunch or a snack. Some people will not mind hearing them in the background because you are proof that you are a normal person working from home. Never apologize for your children in the background. You are staying at home FOR them.
How about those taxes! Do you know just how much stuff you can write off on taxes for working at home, or having a business out of your house? You can write off a portion of your Utility Bills, your computer, your phone line, any business start up or monthly fees that you may have, any materials you have to buy for your business. Plus there are many more that most people do not even think of. Think of how much money you can get back on your taxes. A home business is a Huge tax Shelter! It's amazing. If you haven't taken the time to reasearch the tax benefits, I suggest you do. You will find some very good information online.
