HURRY UP, AND WAIT
We're living in the Promised Land;
We're safe inside the gate.
Our life inside is simply grand;
It's "Hurry up, and wait!"
We race the pace to beat alarms,
To punch the clock in time.
With flapping arms and lucky charms,
We seek the finish line.
So, crawling from the covers sweet,
We sprint to face the day.
Until the calendar's complete,
We cannot walk away.
Enduring just till Friday, then,
We muster what we must.
We're rolling much too quickly now
To gather any dust.
This frantic pace grows young to old;
It makes us ever late.
And, though we crave Olympic gold,
We hurry up and wait.
