The theory and the battle of good vs. evil is age old and will continue throughout humanity. Life without it would be confusing, mundane and bleak. How can you know one, without the other? Evil exists just as good exists. They cannot be caused or created because they are already there.
Evil is defined as immoral conduct and intentionally causing harm or injury to others. Satan is known as the "evil one" because his intentions are self-serving and immoral.
Many times throughout each day, people have to choose between good and evil. Are you going to pick up the twenty-dollar bill that fell from the oblivious woman's purse and quickly stuff it into your pocket, or are you going to hand it to the woman? If there is a new employee at work who could easily be blamed for your wrongdoing, are you going to own your actions or let the new employee take the heat? An individual cannot cause good or evil, they can choose which to partake in.
Boredom is also a choice, a state of mind that can easily be shifted. We cannot be entertained every hour of each day. There are times when we must rely on imagination and creativity to stimulate our minds. Even the most tedious tasks can be less boring if we change our attitude towards it. Allowing ourselves to become irritable and miserable to the point where we decide to harm or injure someone is unacceptable.
If we chose to become bored and participate in evil actions, we have only ourselves to blame. Boredom does not beget evil. Evil is there and just as with good, you only have to reach out for it. Idle hands are not the work of the devil; they are the result of laziness.
We should not worry that our children need be occupied and entertained at all times to avoid evil-doings. We should teach them to make good choices and if they find themselves with noting to do, encourage them to use their imaginations.
People who say they are bored not very interesting to be around. Bored people who say their boredom causes them to do evil things are not taking responsibility for their own actions and choices. There is no good reason to have nothing to do. In the midst of our technology, people have forgotten the simple pleasures of reading, drawing, playing board games, arts and crafts and other fun activities.
