My Pit Bull Saved My Life
Pit bulls are always getting a bad rap. People only want you to believe how 'dangerous' they are. Forever claiming they are a 'bad breed'. No one wants you to know the truth. Any dog can be bad if raised that way. The truth is pit bulls are very loyal and will gladly give they're lives to protect they're owners.
I had a pit bull, who I rescued. He was bred to fight, he came from a long line of 'champion fighters'. At the tender age of 5 months the previous owners, who lived next door to my mom, began to fight him. He killed several dogs while in the fighting ring by the time he was a year old. Knowing the situation I began to devise a plan to save him. After his first big loss he was messed up pretty bad. They left him outside to die as punishment for losing the fight. I ceased the opportunity to save him. In the black cloak of the night I stole him. I took him home and my husband helped me nurse him back to health. I tried to fight him off but he had already locked down and was shaking it violently. Jackyll hearing my scream from his dog pen, busted through the Plexiglas on the screen door. Jumping on the dog, Jackyll began to fight like the professional he once was. Jackyll never let go of the dog til the threat had been eliminated. This is when he earned a permanent place in my heart. Though he saved me from certain injury, this was not the day he saved my life.
One afternoon my husband left for work. Having only one car I'm sure the house must have looked empty. I had just worked a double shift the night before and was getting ready for bed. While I was in the shower I heard a loud bang and my small miniature pinscher barking wildly in her cage. Not knowing what was happening I jumped out of the shower to investigate. Jackyll was in my bedroom with the door shut. As I opened the bathroom door I heard Jackyll banging on the
