Battling to maintain my whatever this is
I'm a defense pushed back to my own red zone
A cyclist out of heart in the climb
A driver on final laps with tunnel vision
Shooting for the win but out of time
The end of myself was signed and passed long ago but somehow
I managed to park here and wait for you to show up
I'm beginning to realize

Somehow the things I had when I walked in here
Have lost luster and are not holding up
But you, oh you
What more can be said
When the songs have been sung and the words have been said
You live on and I rise to you
I cease to be as you live in me
