Assessing the future of the Arab-Israeli conflict

is theirs in the Hereafter;" It's clear that verse 32 is a rule for Jews, not Muslims while the exhortation to violence is addressed to Muslims. A Muslim once told me that this wasn't true because of something in some other writings you must use to understand the Koran. Using other writings to interpret scripture raises the serious question of if you're following a corrupted version of God's word. Also it strongly suggests that your scripture is inadequate. My interpretation seems to explain why so many people seem to think it's acceptable for Muslims to launch terrorist attacks against Israel and get upset when Israel retaliates.

One way the Bible differs from the Koran (any objective person who reads both can't help but conclude that the latter is a shoddy rip-off of the former) is that while the Koran contains a number of descriptions of things which will supposedly happen on Judgement day (only one is verifiable, that a wall of iron and bronze, which Alexander the Great built between two mountains to protect the world from Gog and Magog, will fall on Judgement day I think it's clear how true that is!), the Bible contains numerous prophecies of events which will happen first. Some have come true long after they were written and some sound suspiciously as if they're referring to things like nuclear weapons, aircraft and computers. These prophecies say nothing about the Israelites being replaced as God's chosen people. They also say repeatedly that Israel will not only be restored as a state but reunited with the lost tribes and be considerably larger than it's current size. When will this happen? Hosea 3:4-5 reads, "For the Israelites will live many days without king or prince, without ephod or idol. Afterwards the Israelites will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord and to his blessings in the last days." This sounds a lot like the present situation of the Jews (although it's unclear what's become of the lost tribes). Christians generally interpret the reference to David as meaning his descendent Yeshua (Jesus) and many Jews are now coming to accept him as their messiah. Therefore it's highly likely that we'll soon see the full restoration of Israel.

The Bible also refers to a Jewish temple in the end times (the fact that it only mentions the destruction of the temple in prophecy is strong evidence that all the New Testament was written by 70AD) and many Christians and some Jews are expecting this to
