I also tried SMC. Even though the merchandise looked good for the most part, their statement that their products were cheap just wasn't the case. My real problem was I could never even get my investment back. I sold a few things where I work but did poorly everywhere else. When my husband got sick and I wasn't able to make the yearly payment, they wouldn't just let me pay when I wanted to return selling. They wanted the current payment plus the previous year. I told them I simply could not pay for service I did not receive. There was also the problem of over-saturation. Every time I turned around, I was meeting someone else selling the same merchandise. Basically, in order for a product to sell, you have to have a supply for it. When we are having to pay more than three dollars a gallon for gas, the only supply in demand are just the basic staples of life. Selling knickknacks and miscellaneous merchandise is just a gamble. But hey, I don't blame anyone for trying! After all, with a shinking economy, everyone is looking to make a quick buck.
The quality of their products seem to be ok, just not what this country needs. Want to sell the american public something they need? Ok, lets start with food, clothing, fuel, medical products, diet foods and accessories. Now these products sell because they are in demand daily not just once a year. Like my uncle used to say, "If you can't wear it or eat it, it was worth a dime". Makes you wonder doesn't it? My house is full of junk! We all collect it over the years. You may enjoy it for a short time, but when it's all said it done, it's still junk. That being said, I could only find a few items in SMC's catalog that I would actually spend my hard earned money on for myself.
SMC prays on people with financial problems and they are making a killing at it. I don't blame them for making it work. After all, they are in the driver's seat and they are running right over the middle class that are trying to fid a way out. My only real problem with SMC was that there was not enough information given to me early on. They just gave me enough information to get started, but not enough to keep a business afloat.
