Anywhere a recipe calls for lemon juice you can substitute apple cider vinegar. But why would you want to do that? Because of its amazing benefits. Hippocrates the father of medicine recommended it for better health. Touted for its medicinal qualities,it can increase metabolism causing more calories to be burned. It also enhances the process of digestion and can help prevent colon problems. Usually the way it is taken is by putting a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of honey in a glass of water. This may not seem palatable but when we use it in our recipes it is a lot easier to take.

Try using it when making an oil and vinegar dressing for salads. It gives a much tastier zing than ordinary vinegar. Mix it up ahead of time in a decanter to keep in the refrigerator.
Just mix equal parts of oil and the apple cider vinegar . Herbs and spices can be added to taste. You will need to shake it up when you are ready to pour it over your fresh salad.

Experienced cooks well know the benefits and uses of apple cider vinegar . Whether you want to include it in your diet for its health benefits or its flavor enhancing qualities, every kitchen should have a bottle of apple cider vinegar.
