Online video game reviews: BubbleWorld

The main purpose of Bubbleworld by Bibo Games is for Cindy the Fairy to free all the animals and items that have been trapped in bubbles by the evil witch. Sounds simple doesn't it?

The first couple levels are relatively easy and left me thinking this is a game for little kids. Even though the graphics are slightly on the preschoolish the game will more than challenge most adults.

In the first 20 levels there are pairs of animals trapped in bubbles that you must match up by clicking on each one in the pair to release them from their bubbles. In the higher levels you are matching up symbols similar to Mahjong tiles, which I found easier to do then the animal levels. The catch is that the bubbles are not all the same size and they are slightly transparent; so you can see the colorful backgrounds along with the pictures. If that wasn't bad enough certain bubbles will start to flash, which means you need to find the match to them quickly as they will burst soon costing you 10 seconds off the clock.

Each level is timed; you can gain time by matching the colored bubbles and lose time by not matching the flashing bubbles. The only trick I found to completing levels without running out of time is to always know where the matches are before you click on a bubble, because if you click on the wrong bubble you lose 5 seconds off the clock. Some of the pictures are very close in appearance and they are not all the same size. They range in size from about the dimension of a dime to that of a silver dollar, so you really need to pay attention to what you are clicking on to avoid making mistakes and losing 5 seconds.

The bubbles are also always moving and some kind of shake, so every few seconds the game boards is totally different. This makes it impossible to memorize the playing field. If you should happen to run out of time on a certain level the good news is that you do not have to start over at level one; you get to keep trying the levels until you beat them.

All in all this is a fun game to play. The action moves quickly, it is challenging and it really makes you concentrate on what you are doing. I give it 4.5 out of 5. Great game.
