So you want to start making money online huh? It's obvious you'll probably need a website or blog but you should also have a plan or an outline. If you are a newbie it can seem pretty overwhelming! Lots to learn and so little time in a day.

1. Create some free web sites at terapad.com or some other place. They don't have to be free of course but if you want to start be as cost efficient as possible free is the way to go. You should however buy a domain. This will protect you from having your website or blog suddenly deleted! This happened at Blogger a while back and it people were talking about it in forums all over the place. A little tip here: have an "experiment" website along with your main "real" website. Look, if you're a newbie you are going to be messing around trying to paste code and whatnot and you're bound to totally screw up your site. Do all of your experimenting on your dummy site. For example; if you're trying for the first time to edit your style sheet do it on your dummy site. When you finally figure out what you are doing THEN go to your "real" site and make your edits. It can be pretty embarrassing to have people come to your site when it's in a temporary state of disarray!

2. Don't post your site right away work on it first! Learn some Search engine optimization basics. Get the free version of Goodkeywords to help you generate lots of keywords.

3. Search out hot markets. Think of a keyword or phrase and type it in to the search bar. Notice the sponsored links that show up on the right. Are there a lot of them? If so then this is a hot market.

4. Pick a broad, large market.

5. Write an article relevant to your market. Here's a great tip: read articles about writing articles! Writing articles is going to be part of your job if you plan to make money online.

6. Join some free affiliate programs and surround your article with banners and ads. You make money if people click on them and purchase products. So you want to make sure that the kind of people coming to your site are actually interested in maybe buying something related to your sites content. That's a no brainer. But how do you attract the exact people you want? How do you get your special target visitors to come to your site in huge numbers? See step #9.

7. Advertise space available on your site. Something like,"your ad here instead of this one for only $297!" You WILL sell these spots. How? Well you can do it yourself or you can have it done for free
