Merry meet and welcome to my comments. Thank you for taking the time to read this. You may not know what Merry meet means, it simply means hello.

This question is almost like asking why you are a Christian or Muslim, Jewish or Hindu. I am not sure anyone can really answer why we are the way we are. I know for me, I have studied many faiths and beliefs and can tell you that I am proud to be Wiccan and of the Wiccan ways. However that really does not answer the question as to why I am Wiccan.

I believe it is because of the fact that my faith has led me here. Since I can remember I have walked with faith as it has guided me to my place in this world. For as many Faiths as I dabbled in, my home was always in the Magickal world as some of us call it. I can't imagine a day in my life without my Wiccan beliefs. "Do as you will but first do no harm," a statement thousands of us hold true, allows me to know that my actions can cause a reaction in this great cosmic world we live in, good or bad.

I know that my faith can be practiced where ever I choose to go, even if it is to Central Park or to my bedroom; it is one with nature and myself. My faith and my practices may affect someone I never knew I could touch. Very much like other beliefs, when that faith is the basis of your beliefs, it shows through with all you do and who you touch.

Being Wiccan, I have been witness to so many amazing things that have happened in my life, including being there for people and just giving them guidance without judgment. Eventually all you do does come back to you, and it is what you do with what you are given that determines how hard your walk is at times. With knowing inside that my peace is with me and my maker, whether I am right or wrong for my beliefs, I will not judge another. This is more of leading by example, but it is also a very deeply seeded part of my life and my practices.

I have been Wiccan all my life; I was born that way. I very much believe that just as you cannot choose your sexual preference, you cannot choose the belief system that you will become a part of. Yes, you may have been raised Catholic, but if you don't feel your faith, are you really going to want to be a "practicing Catholic?" Chances are you will go by the wayside and then look into other beliefs. Not every belief that we are born into is the right belief for us. If you are in the right faith, you will know it and demonstrate it.
