A woman will always be more attractive and appealing without make-up. Make-up to me implies a woman who values the superficial. Self-confident women tend to wear little to no make-up. Less is more when you aren't trying to impress anybody.

A woman should be able to enhance her outward appearance with a careful application of make-up if she chooses. But, it's not appealing in the least to see a woman wearing full make up every day all day. New techniques for fashion modeling now include air brushing and liquid wrinkle filler. I want to see a face, not an art project.

Make up hides every flaw and blemish. It hides the bags under your eyes and those little wrinkles at the corner of the mouth. It creates a mask for a woman to hide behind. I don't like masks.

Make-up hides who you are. It hides the frown lines and the crows' feet. It also hides the laugh lines and that little crinkle you get from a lifetime of laughter. It covers those little bumps and markings of a life well lived.

Make up for a special occasion can be nice to see. Everyone wants to look their best at a wedding or event. They want that little bit of artifice to make themselves stand out and feel special. But, I don't think women should want to, or need to look like that every day. It's not realistic. It's not real.

I think realistic is what too many women try to avoid. It's easier to be shallow and vain. Women have been brainwashed by the fashion industry to think that the only way to be attractive is to look like a fashion model and be a perfect size two. Step two in the programming is to make a woman believe that if she is not perfect she cannot possibly be happy. What utter garbage. Catering to someone else's idea of attractive is the surest recipe for failure and a lifetime of self hate. Women have lost sight of individuality and self expression in their quest to be what the televisions says beauty is.

Why take care of yourself, when you can just hide it behind a little make-up? Name the skin type and there is a specialty make-up product that will hide/enhance/alter it for you. Why age gracefully when you can slather on the make-up and fight it every step of the way. Why be real?

When you look at a woman you should be able to see a personality, a thinking, feeling human being. Most decisions about a person are made within seconds of first meeting. It's a judgement based on appearance. When I see a woman who relies on carefully applied make-up to get by, I can't help but think shallow, unintelligent, self centered and vain. Without make-up you see deeper than a layer of paint. You see a mother's sleepless night, the knitted brow of hard work, and dimples of laughter. You see a real person who knows who she is and isn't afraid to be herself.
