Myspace. It's a funny old how dya do. It does seem that more and more people are getting fed up and 'jumping ship' to Facebook. I have never been on Facebook so I cannot really compare but I am a little disheartened with Myspace and perhaps the people that frequent it. I have just had a friend request and I decided to investigate her profile it turns out she is just trying to direct traffic to her online clothing store and her all her pictures were of her designs As I selected that I am here for friends, why on earth would I want to look at someones rather uninspiring dress collection. Not exactly the idea is it? and then there all the the people who send out mass friend request to make themselves look popular. I like to refer to them as 'picture collectors'. Why do they do it? Do I even care? I must confess that I spend most of my time 'deleting' so called friends. Oh, if only it were that simple in real life!
I was just thinking about how easy it is for people to add friends on Myspace. You just click on the profile, get a basic idea of what the person is like and if you please you can 'add as a friend'. Not so easy in real life is it? when I first joined Myspace I ended up with about 20 'friends'. Out of those I think there was one woman who sent me a message, so I sent her a message back and that was that. Incommunicado. I thought right, sod this for a game of tin soldiers and deleted EVERYBODY. My husband, Tom the lot. It was quite satisfying to see the words 'Samantha has no friends'. Ain't that the truth, well I don't have any real friends anyway! Then I got to thinking. Wouldn't it be cool (or sad) if I could add myself as a friend?. I used to have IM conversations with myself. Not much fun though because I always new what the other person was about to say. I even tried typing really fast to see if I could trick myself, but to no avail. In the end I just had a row with myself. Well anyway, I went onto my profile and clicked 'add as friend'. Do you know what it said to me? 'You can't add yourself as a friend'!. It was as if the computerized A.I. response was on one hand admonishing me and on the other, laughing at me!
I have had all sorts of names on here and have used different profile pictures. My last ID was Bob Cratchit and I think I was using a picture of a cat as my default profile picture. I was wondering what would happen if I went outside with a cat on my head (don't worry cat lovers - I would make sure it was either stuffed or at the very least
