cooling. The temperatures are rebounding now, and have been for the last 300 years at roughly the same rate, though the global temperatures still haven't reached the point they were at 2,000 years ago, by several degrees. Temperatures have risen quite a bit less than a degree in the last century, so at that rate, we won't see global climate like what was 2,000 years ago, for at least 4-6 centuries.
Even discounting the fact that there is no definition of how long we need to go back to satisfy the condition of 'recent', and ignoring the fact that climate is driven by temperature changes and fluctuations, there is nothing at all to show that those fluctuations aren't totally normal for this planet, nor that climate is doing anything it hasn't done over and over again.
The world is clearly in the midst of a cyclic warming trend, at least until its own fail-safe is triggered to put us into a cooling trend. There is no indication at all that this is not totally normal, and the change has been steady for the last few centuries (discounting periods of time when climate has changed abruptly, then slowed down to far less than normal).
Without having a definition of how long "recent" is, the answer, then, would have to be no. Either that or yes, all climate change is related to both global cooling and warming.
