How to find a buyer for your used car

much better, but it can't hurt to try. Be firm and stick to your guns, but be reasonable. It's like dating; don't sound too eager, answer the phone on the first ring, or harass potential buyers with phone calls. They may not be as anxious to buy your car as you are to sell it, and you need to remember that. If you're professional and don't scare anyone away, you have a good chance of getting your car sold.

Another way to find a buyer is to have someone else do it for you, like a dealer. Dealers are often good at attracting buyers, since they own dealerships that display cars visibly on the side of the road in an eye-catching fashion. You can do this with your car, too but the dealer still has an advantage in this case, as people aren't generally shopping in your yard.

The newspaper is a good way, and the more money you have, the better ad you can afford. You can try flyers as well. Another great way is networking. Let everyone you know who might be looking for a car that you have a car to sell. Just be aware that when selling to a friend or family member, you'd be wise not to try any sneaky tricks. They'll be coming after you if you lied in your advertisement or if the bumper is held on by silly putty.

Well, that's about it for advice on finding a buyer. Now go out there and find a buyer!
