For whatever reason you have decided to take to the ice, be it for hockey, figure, speed, dance, or just pure enjoyment, the thrill of taking your first faltering steps across that slippery surface can feel like a huge achievement.
As it is your first time on the ice, you may like to pop along with a friend to the local ice rink to get an idea about what the place is like. What kind of clothing have other skaters chosen to wear? Most people will favor wearing a comfortable pair of jogging pants, a jacket or sweater and cotton socks that will not make your feet sweat. After a couple of visits you will get the hang of sorting your boots out and if you are still unsure, walk around the rubber pads near the rink and see how they feel before taking to the ice.
