Testimonies: My finest moment in a role-playing game

It is hard to pick the finest moment for over the last twenty years. I am trying to think what would be my finest moment in a role-playing game. I have played in many different game systems with many different game masters. I would have to say it was when I was playing Dungeon's and Dragons. It was about fifteen or sixteen years ago. I was playing with my dad, my younger brother and three friends. Another friend of ours was running the game.

Now we were decent level characters in 2nd Edition Advanced Dudgeon's and Dragons. I was playing a human Ranger and was around eighth to tenth level. My dad was a dwarf Fighter. My brother was a halfling Thief. My friends were a human Cleric, a human Wizard and a drow Fighter/Thief.

We were world hoping to different Dudgeon's and Dragons worlds. We even came to earth in modern times, which was I think then 1992 the summer. That was pretty cool, we got to meet some characters from another game we played. They helped us to defeat some evil Wizard.

The Wizard was a half demon Wizard we fought in our other game before. This guy was tough then and in our new game to. We had found this sword that was awesome against demons. My friends were getting their butts handed to them. I was outside looking through a ring of fire. I grabbed the sword deciding to throw it at the guy. My friend our DM (Dudgeon Master) told. "Man, you are going to have to roll a 20. That is on a d20 the best you can roll.

I used to think yeah throwing a sword. Like you see in the movies. I will tell you this. You can throw a sword. It is not easy and not to much on target. At five feet you can hit dead on. At ten feet you may be a little off. The max range is about fifteen feet. I tried twenty though that was to hard. I kept falling a little short. May be eighteen feet is about the max and it is hard to hit.

I have had a few other memorable moments in my gaming life. I have played now for about twenty years. I have played many different games with many different characters. Some life on in my mind as awesome power houses. I hope you have fun gaming and never grow to old to play.
If you can believe this I picked up my die. I threw it rolling a 20. I could not believe what had happened. I hit the guy rolling max damage. It was not enough to kill him though it dropped his hit points. His life in the game to near death. We were able to finish him off getting what we needed to get back home.

There has been other moments that I have done the near impossible. You never know what will happen when you sit down at the table. It is all the roll of the dice. Do they fall your way, and if so you are the winner. If the dice go against you then you are done. My finest moment in a role playing game is being able to hang out with family and friends.
