One will be able to discern quite easily that most, if not all, of my ten comeback yearnings are probably pipe dreams. However, reflection is a good thing. All things are possible and maybe....just maybe a few may be realistic enough to become a reality again.
1. Smiles. They seem to have disappeared from most people's faces. Sadly, I see even babies in stores not responding to a smile. Parents do not smile and little ones do observe what grown-ups do and mimic them. A day without a smile is like a day without sunshine! A smile is a delightful enjoyment that people use to naturally and freely extend to one another.
2. I yearn for the comeback of when the majority of people told the truth to one another. It's been said that 80% of people lie on a daily basis. Elaborate, expensive weddings that place a heavy burden of debt on a new couple will do little to ensure a start of a happy marriage. Add to that the idea that divorce is always an instant option and the commitment level can drop drastically.
5) The American dream. Owning ones own home through hard work and diligent saving was a reality at one time. Today its not a dream, instead its a nightmare. Buying a home is a complicated, expensive procedure with too many "expert" people having to assist along the way and all sharing in taking the money before you can even put down your down payment and sign the deed.
6) School prayer. When they took prayer out of
