What is sage tea? Who drinks sage tea? Where are the best places to buy sage tea? How do you prepare sage tea? When is the best time to have sage tea? Why should you drink sage tea?
Sage is an herb that grows in the Mediterranean and also Europe. You can buy whole sage leaves in most grocery stores, but be warned, do not ingest excessive amounts of sage if you have epilepsy or are pregnant, as it may trigger seizures in people with epilepsy or cause problems during pregnancy. Sage tea is a tea made out of fresh sage leaves, fine sugar, grated lemon rind, juice from one lemon, and hot water. To prepare sage tea, just keep the water at a simmer, add the rest of the ingredients, steep for thirty minutes, strain out the herbs, and serve hot or iced. It is good for those of who enjoy green teas, and, although, none of these treatments has been scientifically studied, it is believed to be very soothing to the nerves, good for stomach troubles, gas, make an excellent gargle for the throat, expel worms, stop bleeding of wounds, be good for liver and kidney troubles, a good wash for wounds, a good hair tonic, a fever reducer, good for circulation, and a help for excessive sweating and hot flashes.
Hot flashes, a common symptom of menopause, are typically experienced as a feeling of intense heat with sweating and rapid heartbeat, and may typically last from two to thirty minutes for each occurrence. The event may be repeated a few times each week or constantly throughout the day, with the frequency reducing over time. Excessive flushing can lead to rosacea, a chronic form of acne affecting the nose, forehead, and cheeks, characterized by red pustular lesions. Some women undergoing menopause never have hot flashes. Others have mild or infrequent flashes. The worst sufferers experience dozens of hot flashes each day. Severe hot flashes can make it difficult to get a full night's sleep, which in turn can affect mood, concentration, and cause other physical problems. When hot flashes occur at night, they are called night sweats. As estrogen is typically lowest at night, a woman might get night sweats without having any hot flashes during the daytime.
Sage tea should be available at a local tea shop, if you have one, or at many other local or national retailers, such as Wal-Mart, Target, or any of the major grocery store chains in your area, as well as online.
