Tears
There it is again,
the unavoidable burning in my throat
that signals the trapped emotions of tears wanting to escape.
I feel them pushing against the flesh at my neck,
striving for release.
They singe the inside of my eyes as they threaten to greet you.
With resolve and determination,
I keep them imprisoned in their temple of despair,
simmering and gaining strength.

to lose control.
But as the emotions overpower me,
the salty drops of sadness break free,
spilling from my blue eyes and heart.
And now,
