There seems to be a time that you will need to rent car, some reasons are, vacation travel, long distance traveling, and for trips of all sorts. Now everyone knows that renting a car can get very expensive, especially if you are not looking for the deals, and nice tips to go about renting a car accordingly. Some choose to do it last minute or do no research on the idea. There are many ways to get around paying too much! One is getting the guide lines and tips on renting a car. Here are some quick and easy tips to help you get along easier and faster. One tip, and probably the most important, what you want to do is compare the cost of renting a car versus the cost of using taxi or a van to your destination. You can also make advanced reservations, allowing you to take advantage of cheaper purchase fare. Looking for car rentals that are located off the air grounds. The transportation there is free and rentals are usually cheaper. Another useful tip that should be appointed is that you should keep receipts, they will be needed for car rentals. Acceptable receipts are the original itemized receipt, showing dates, the points of departure, detailed cost and amount paid. You also need the original itemized receipt for all gasoline purchased for the rental car. There are plenty more tips where those come from. Now a good resource to find some great guidelines is the road and travel magazine! In there it shows great ways to perfect your way in renting a car! You also have to think carefully about what kind of car you will need for your trip. Say if you have kids, friends, or family that are going with you, check for the cheapest SUV's possible, but if you plan on saving lots of money especially on gasoline, then you want to find the most smallest available model. Questions you may want to ask yourself while booking a car rental, ask questions like how long will your trip be, if it is less than a week you want to rent from the major rental companies such as, Alamo, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National or Thrifty. For rentals that are anticipated to be longer than a week, you may get better rates from local companies, however if you were to break down or get into an accident they usually lack the support services of that of the majors. Like always, shop around, take good looks into the pricing, support services, rates, and be sure to know all information needed to successfully rent a car.
