The "Hot-for-Teacher Phenomenon Is Most Certainly a Timeless Truism
Admit it. Every one of you out there has been "hot" for at least one of your teachers over the course of your secondary and post-secondary scholastic careers. And in my most frank and honest opinion, anyone who says they have never been hot for one of his or her teachers at one time or another is either terribly embarrassed by these very natural sets of emotions or else he or she is just an all out incurable liar.
This phenomenon is particularly pervasive during the transition from what can often be a fiery adolescence into a more settled young adulthood, And what creates this hankering to pay a sort of romantic homage to these seemingly perfect professors? The answer is obviously different for everyone. From past personal experience, I can tell you that I have had many "hot-for-teacher" happenings in my life.

I tagged behind after class to walk with him and suspend my own stressed out world as an over-achiever and A-expectant new college student in favor of a world filled with engaging, stoic discussions. And in those brief and now seemingly fleeting moments, I thought that I was "in love." And even much before that a few times before, this very wonderful and memorable sort of "puppy love" has graced my life. Little "crushes" here and there that would make living through the heavy labors of genuinely earned scholastic achievement a bit more bearable.
Surprising, too, is the fact that though incidences of the reverse are rare and that it might seem inappropriate to publicly reveal a crush on a student, it is a known fact (albeit frequently unadmitted) that teachers have secretly carried torches for their students as well. Many debate the appropriateness of the teacher's interest asserting that the teacher as the authority figure should have a more highly refined sense of the appropriate and better boundaries within him or herself as not to allow a usually publicly perceived as inappropriate relationship to start and
