Most parents can tell you that raising a one year old is not an easy task, especially when you consider the fact that most children this age are curious by nature. Therefore, in situations like this it's best for the parent to come up with something fun and educational for their child to do. Most parents like using arts and crafts, because it helps the child develop mentally as well as physically. This could be the best way to spend more time with your child, as well as aiding them to being more creative.
Many children this age are most likely to express themselves in a creative fashion. There will be times when your child will use a pen or crayon, to draw on the wall. Then there will be times when your child will find a new and creative way to use a pair of scissors, and we all remember the first time they gave themselves a haircut. There will even be times where they will be exploring different taste, by means of sticking virtually anything in their mouth.
This is the time when one year old learn to become individualized, with their own thoughts and wants. Therefore, this is the perfect time to utilize your child's creativity and make crafts for your child that'll be both fun and educational.

I suggest that you get a large bowl, and maybe you can decorate it so that your child will find the bowl interesting. You can give it a zany and fun name, and this will help your child identify the type of bowl it is and what it's used for.
Once you get the bowl, you can add in a few items that your child can use
such as art paper to draw on, precut shapes of paper, crayons, pencil colors, and you can even use stickers to add a little flare to their design. You can virtually use anything that's not hazardous to your child, such as small objects that could be swallowed.
The basis of this craft is for you to let your child create their own creation by means of drawing. Children have a tendency to "space out" if you try forcing them into doing the things that you want them to. Your child can draw faces on the precut shapes of paper, and then they may want to color them later. Therefore if you allow them a little creative freedom, the child will get more enjoyment in what their doing. You being the parent could join them as well, creating your own work of art. Even if your child wants to draw on your beautiful creation,
