Did you know you didn't need a college degree
To win the lottery,
To have your own business,
Make your own hours, and live a life that's schedule-free?

Did you know that no degree is required
To be an Alaskan fisherman,
To travel the world constantly
As a model sporting a fantastic tan?

No education from a university

Is needed to be an artist.
To be a travel agent,
Or to work for a family business.

If investing money is your thing,
Fear not,
A diploma's not needed.
Just ask Bill Gates -
He'll tell you he's succeeded.

If your interest is in writing,
Perhaps you might write a novel.
If you like working with the dead,
You could always dig graves with a shovel.

While many think that with no college,
You won't amount to anything,
In today's world you can actually make big bucks,
If you can dance, make people laugh, or sing.

There are reality shows out the wazoo.
If you only look around.
You may find that American Idol
or Survivor is soon coming to your town.

If you look half decent and you've got pizazz,
You could always go into television.
Thu field pays big so if you've got talent,
Its no hard decision.

High school grads can also be bartenders
or banquet servers.
And if they're nice to customers
They can make some great tips only serving h'ourderves!

Firemen and rescue squad members
Don't have to be armed with a degree.
All they need is determination, strength,
And a lot of bravery.

To make a long story rather short,
You can be a success within your life.
If you've got a knack for saving money,
And playing your cards all right.

There are plenty of eventful jobs
That require excellent people,
And who don't necessarily pay lower
Than if you were a teacher.

So be an army captain.
Earn your stripes and stars.
With a motivated spirit.
You are sure to go quite far.

Time and time again,
Folks throughout history,
Have defied the odds and made a ton of loot -
Much more than you and me.

With a little planning,
Tons of thought,
And perhaps a little luck,
Without a college education,
You can still earn a pretty buck.

That's not to say that education isn't valuable.
Surely, it'll never harm you.
It broadens your horizons
And inspires individuals too.

But its certainly not for everyone.
Each of us has our own path.
But success isn't always based on money.
You can do the math.

So follow your dreams.
Stay close to your goals.
You'll be sure to fly wherever you go.
We all can only control today.
For tomorrow is unknown.

You could wind up earning a triple digit figure
Just because you're good at ball,
And making more than most Americans,
Even with taxes taken out and all.

None of us ever knows our future.
Tomorrow is but a glimpse away.
So its best to do our best,
Each and every day.
