ALONE
Her form lies printed on the sheet
Her fragrance lingers in the heat
What chance that we again should meet
On distant shores at the waves retreat
The cicadas sing as midnight's sigh
Creeps noiseless through the air whilst I
Writhe restless on the bed and cry
One more embrace and then I'll die
Dawn finds me alone and still awake
Mist cloaks the fingers of waves that break
and hiss forlornly as I take
The last journey I'll ever make
