Remember how in the past, magazines and style articles advised you (for many seasons in a row) that a red handbag, or a pair of sexy red stilettos can change completely an, otherwise plain, outfit? Well, red is still hot (and it will always be), but yellow is bright! And it seems that this spring we need a little brightness in our life.

I must confess that I've never gave to much credit to yellow clothes or accessories. But i always associated this color with pale green and white clothes, and i never though of wearing strong yellow, like the one that colors the clothes and, well, basically everything, this season.

Being such a not so common color, i can advise you to buy first some accessories in intense yellow, and try to match them with clothes from your wardrobe.

A yellow mini messenger bag can brighten a pale, purple outfit, as we saw in Celine's (fashion brand) collections and an an intense yellow skirt can make a glamorous combination with an ivory shirt and bag.

Style icon Kylie Minogue was spotted combining an yellow babydoll coat with a marine-inspired outfit, so you can be inspired by her and match yellow accessories with deep-blue or striped clothes.

But the bright color is sure looking at its best with black! A small evening clutch can give structure and elegance to an all-black outfit, as Miu Miu outfits show us and a lemon belt makes a statement over plain black clothes.

Or you can be daring enough to wear strong yellow as the main color, with only some subtle black accessories for contrast, for example a skinny patent belt or a cute neck tie bow.

Another daring way to wear it, is combining it with wild-life inspired prints, as we can see in Tibi's collection of clothes.

And the yellow trend does not apply only to clothes, it extends to interior decorations and furniture as well. You will notice how a simple yellow square on the wall or a bouquet of yellow flowers on the table will simply enlighten an entire room!
