oh the joys of agony
etched deep into my soul -
barren solitude in
a world full of
beating hearts with
no compassion.
unending despair in
the eyes i see reflected
back when looking in
the mirror.
drowning sorrow in
every move i make
with an agility that
i know cannot last.
and finally
crippling fear in
the certainty that
tomorrow will only bring
more of today.
these are the joys of
my agony -
my only companions on
this journey i
call life.
