America is riddled with subsidies everywhere you look, mostly benefiting large cooperations and companies benefiting instead of the small businesses or small farmers or the right people. Giving subsidies to all energy sectors is the worst way to accomplish anything. Not only does it waste money, it also prevents more efficient and renewable sources of energy from being found.

Oil companies make billion and even trillions of dollars in profits. Aramco made 2.6 trillion dollars in profit for Saudi Arabia with oil. So why should American government give oil companies subsidies? We should stop providing subsidies to companies that produce non-renewable resources.

We should tax oil companies, and money from taxes and subsidies should go into research and into developing renewable resources and technologies and to the companies that does these. Oil will not last for long, coal is not infinite and that leaves us with Solar, Wing, thermal and numerous other alternatives. Solar farms in the deserts of American plains and wind farms through the coastal areas (east & west coast) and Thermal energy stations in some of the hot spots can generate millions of kilowatts of energy to power tons of homes cheaply and safely.

Instead of buying oil at unreasonable prices and send more and more money to Middle East and becoming dependent on oil, let us develop and gain energy independence. America is a slave to oil countries. We are also one of the leading polluters in the world, very close to China and India.

A country that can feed it own people, power its own energy needs and make its own defenses/weapons is truly a Independent country. America needs to become Independent and renewable resources are the way! We have to also show more concern for our planet and our future generations.
