It isn't hard for many to tell if their house is haunted. There are, often enough, not so subtle hints and clues...in many ways, the house itself will tell...or the ghosts therein. If you think your house is haunted, but you just aren't sure, there are things you can do to find out.

You can research the history of the house, the land it was built on, the area the land is in...there

are a number of key concepts you can research in order to help you determine whether or not the history of the house can give a hint as to whether or not it is haunted.

There are the tell-tale signs such as actually seeing ghosts. In those cases, it doesn't matter if other people believe you or not, you KNOW your house is haunted and it is up to you to do whatever you choose to do. Sometimes others see ghosts in your home, ghosts you cannot see. Not everyone can see ghosts. I, for example, was able to see ghosts when I was a very young child...that is no longer the case although I can feel or 'sense' them and I can often 'see' them with my third or mind's eye.

I lived in the house that my father and step-mother shared, she is a Witch and owned the house with her ex-husband long before my dad had moved in. I know that house was haunted and had many instances that proved my theory to be a reality. There was one time my friend and I were standing in the walk way of the front of the home and there was a doll on a display table not too far away...my step mother collects dolls (creepy)....My friend asked me which one of us the doll was looking at and I told him it was looking at him, he started to walk towards me, and the doll's eyes followed him. This went on for awhile before I got up the courage to go look at the doll up close...her eyes were very off center and strange looking up close...her left eye was looking as far to the left as possible and her right eye was looking as far to the right as possible. I told my friend perhaps that was responsible for what we saw...it could have been an optical illusion. The next day I told my little sister the story of what had happened, and I was going to show her the dolls eyes, but when I went up to the doll to point to its eyes....they were perfectly centered in the head, staring straight forward...

There were other occurrences in that house that let us know it was haunted..although my dad always denied it. When I told my step mother how scary the house was, she said "I know, I made it that way." Which indicated to me that she put spells on the house to protect it, but I think she missed my point.

When it comes down to it the best way to tell whether or not your house is haunted is to trust your instincts and the instincts of those around you.
