other possibilities that I would not otherwise see for myself. Writing also gives me a way to entertain fears that I can barely confront in the real world. That tiny inner voice that is often overshadowed by my fears and insecurities comes through in writing. Best of all, through my writings, I become connected with the various versions of me past, present and future. Sometimes, I will read old works and re-remember who I was and can better compare that to who I am now. Usually, I see progress, and I hold my writing as responsible for that.
From my childhood until now, writing has always served different purposes, but the more I write, the more I find that through writing, my life is more enriched. By taking the time to write and seeing the world through a writer's eyes, every day becomes more exciting. Writing forces me to be observant, to be curious, to always learn, and to make a lasting memory of what I see and explore. Such lasting memories help me better connect my past with my future, and by attending to the facts and details of my experience, not one day, person, or event slips by without my notice or opinion. My private writings comprise a unique personal history that contains even my most secret thoughts and emotions. Now, I am at the point where I am trying to meet the challenge of creating something that benefits both me and the reader. But this step is required for me to become an active character amongst other characters in this story of Life. And by continuing to write, I remain an active character in my own Life. So, this is why I write.
