Poetry: Dreams

Dreams

We dream all day,
We dream all night,
We dream about planes, friends and might.
We see the future, now and past,
We wish for happiness, success to last.

Sometimes we wake up fearing fright
Or even wishing for delight,
Now and then our dj vu
Seems like a long past dream come true,
Our magic dreams rarely come true.

Some wish for a house, a car, or you
Or dream that someday they'll come through,
Might even dominate the world
Or isolate themselves from hurt,
Sometime, I wish I was a bird.

Our dreams and our ambitions are
Always together, not apart,
They stem from a subconscious desire
To rule, to have more inner power,
But what happens when our dreams come true?

We dream of more, merely more,
Isn't that what we live for?
That treasure to treasure for,
Keeps us going
We want more.

// I have submited this poem for a competition at my school (some time ago) but nothing much came out of it - I'm curious to see your reaction...
