Dr. King said some very powerful words and in todays' society the words that he spoke and believed are not what people are doing. If you look different or belief different than they do you are in the wrong. How can some people still live in the dark ages and think that because they have the right color of skin they they are superior than other people. If we want to succeed and progress to a better standard of living, we have to through out all the old ideas and start treating everyone, where the color of your skin or your background is not important. I feel that everyone should get along with their neighbor and treat everybody with the same respect that they want to be treated by.
As Dr. King said that if you have a dream you should go out and achieve your dream no matter what difficulties that might arise. How can a people achieve their goals if there is some people out there not letting them because of their color of skin or their beliefs.
How you you feel if that was you and you were denied a college education or a job promotion because you were not the norm. If we started walking a mile in their shoes, how you you feel if every door was not open for you because you were a man or a women.
When does it end. Why can we not agree that everyone was created equal and the no one person is better than someone else.
We hear about hate crimes and injustice, but instead of stopping them, we stand back and say nothing and think that it will go away. It does not concern us, so we should just walk away and not let bother with about it. Some else will stop and help that person.
We should stand and and supportive each other in everything and who knows, the door just might get easier to open for all of us.
I am not sure how many people out there agree with me, but we want to change things we have to do it one step at a time. It is like when a child is learning to walk, they take one step at a time before they can walk or even run. We need to stand together and be of one mind.
