My top comeback wishes in sports for 2008

It is time again in a new year to create a list for sport comeback wishes for 2008. If you do not wish or pray for nothing how will it come true? I started my list of five comeback wishes for sports, have you?

The number one comeback wish for me would be the White Sox beating the Chicago Cubs in the World Series. The Sox will be on a mission to show that 2005 was no fluke and they do indeed need to be in the same conversation as the Red Sox of 2004 and 2007. I believe that the pitching, that was number one in 2005, will be better and they will feel more determined to return to the best pitching staffs in baseball. Mark Buehrlie will be the leader, Jose Contreraras is looking to rediscover his magic form the 05 season, and their bullpen should play better because they are pretty young and adjustments have been made to tweak the relievers. Their lineup should produce more runs with the recent additions of Orlando Cabrera and Nick Swisher. Furthermore, with these additions and a few other moves the Sox have made their defense better now that they have increased their talent in the infield and outfield. Remember this team was pretty banged up last year with Crede a very good clutch hitter, Pablo Uzuna the spark of the team and Thome with his ailing back, which should be better. Ozzie ball will return in 2008 and the rest of the American league better watch out.

The number two comeback wish for me would be the Chicago Bears winning the Super Bowl in 2009. This team will return next year with new quarterback, Donovan McNabb, who will make a comeback of his own and show all those doubters that this guy can still play at a championship level in the NFC. Mike Brown will return healthy and be better than ever becoming the Defensive player of the year in 2009. The Bears will loose Lance Briggs but they will see the emergence of new defensive players. All-pro Brian Urlacher will be the sack leader in 2009 because he will now return to the outside linebacker slot because of more depth at linebacker and make Shaun Merrriman of the Chargers look like a child amongst a man. What a wish it would be also if the Bears got Derrick McFadden with a trade with Miami at the number one spot in the NFL draft and all the Chicago fans can forget about draft bust Cedric Benson.

My third comeback wish will be Kobe Bryant in a Bulls uniform and the Bulls starting a new dynasty in 2008. The Bulls and Lakers will have a monster trade that will be remembered for years.
